Last night hubby and I decided to go out. Last time we went out was on our Anniversary in August. I didn’t think the sitter would come with such short notice but she did 🙂 I can’t get over the difference in how I was this time as opposed to the first time I left the baby, I was much more relaxed.

First we went to dinner. I got haddock fillets rolled up covered in breadcrumbs with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. I skipped the dessert since I went out to lunch with my friend yesterday. (i had McD’s) Yikes.

After supper we went to the movies. Of course, I never heard of half of the movies so I didn’t know what to pick. I kind of wanted to see The Guardian, but I can’t stand Kevin Costner, so I didn’t want to go to that one. And I never heard much about anything else that was playing so I couldn’t decide. That’s when I asked the ticket lady what she saw and liked and recommended. She recommended Last Kiss. I’ll put it this way, next time I see her, I wont’ be asking her what’s good! Neither one of us liked it at all! I think the whole thing with the main characters disgusted me. I won’t say anymore in case anyone out there actually wants to waste money on seeing this movie. I’m actually sorry I didn’t go see the other movie. 😦 Our loss.

When we came home the baby had just woken up. She was asleep the whole time, and she was so happy to see us when we walked in. It was so cute. I nursed her and off to sleep she went.

My friend had her twins the other day. She got her girl and boy. The boy weighed in at 7lb 11oz and the girl was 5lb 15oz. I can’t even imagine carrying around 15lbs of baby! What difference that must be now. Mom and babies are doing well, I can’t get over how tiny the girl is. All the babies I have ever seen were at least 7lb and up.

I’ve decided I’m most likely not going to go to the in-laws. I am a complete avoider when it comes to conflict. So that’s probably what I’ll end up doing. I may just go to my parents house instead. We’ll see. And you totally cracked me up Hilly with saying you hoped it wasn’t too “assvicey”.

Not much else new here. Watched Grey’s Anatomy last night. Of course we got the premiere we didn’t see last week. Leave it to Canada to frig it all up. LOL. Oh well. I love the show anyway. I’m totally addicted to America’s Next Top Model. I think I like the twins. I even had hubby watching it with me. HAHA. He hates it too. LOL.

Well I suppose I should get the kiddies finished getting ready to catch the bus. Hope everyone has a great Friday 🙂

Feeling rather blah today.

Hubby and I had a wonderful fight yesterday. It’s all about the SIL.

It started out that we were driving home and she had her car parked at the end of the road to pick her kids up off the bus. I’m like don’t bother stopping to talk, I’m not interested. That’s fine. We drive by and hubby says, she didn’t even look up our way at all. Fine. Whatever. I totally don’t want to waste my effort to speak to her. So then we get home. I tell him how I’m not going to his parents house for Thanksgiving this year and he gets kind of pissy and says, You ARE going. You have no choice. Then it starts. I’m like HELLO! you are not my parent, you cannot force me to do anything, get over it, I’m not going. You take the kids and go. I explained how it’ll totally be uncomfortable having to sit there when SIL and her hubby won’t even look our way. Come on. I’m just sparing everyone here and letting them have their time, his family would rather her there, so be it. I’m fine with that. BUT my point is that I don’t want to be FORCED to speak to people I don’t want to talk with.

Hubby starts saying, you can’t avoid her forever, blah blah, and I’m like no, but when it comes to funerals and weddings and whatnot, i’ll attend, but little gatherings like that, i could care less. I’m not stopping him from taking the kids and going. Blah. It’s all foolishness. I don’t even want to waste my effort thinking about any of them. I’m just super not impressed about hubby’s whole comment about “YOU ARE GOING”. Please, I’m not his slave. He was dead serious too that he was going to force me there. Then says, well none of us are going. And says, Thanks for ruining it for us this year. BLAH!

My 5 yr old daughter got a referral to speech therapy today. Duh took them long enough. Funny thing, all the immdiate children in this family, have speech problems. My oldest daughter had none, but she has a different father. We’ll see how the baby’s speech is when she’s older.

Hubby and I are seriously thinking about moving out west for a few years to try and get some loans paid off. I would go for a few months on my own, but with the baby being so young, she’d never know who I was when I came home and it’d break my heart. So I just can’t leave them. And of course I would miss the crap out of the other kids too, like who would drive me crazy all day long?? lol. I emailed one company and they are willing to re-locate and a sign on bonus, etc. We’ll certainly have to do more searching and what not before any decisions are made, but I think it’d be the best for now, since hubby really wants to build a house in the near future. I just think if our loans were paid down somewhat we’d be able to live more comfortably rather than from pay to pay. Blah, sometimes I miss being a kid. At least I never had to think about this then!

Kids say some of the funniest things. I had to post what my 5 yr old daughter said to me on our drive in to town this evening.

Every year there is a Terry Fox run at the school the end of September and the kids have to collect money for cancer research. Anyway, the teachers give a little blurb about his cause and what he did this for. This being E’s first year in school she was very excited to tell me all about what she had learned in school today.

E: Mom, you know what? We have to collect money for cancer. To help ya know, for cancer. (she has speech problems, so she’s not correctly pronouncing half of these words.
Me: Oh yah, that’s good, we’ll have to collect money from your nan and poppy.
E: yah it’s for ummm, Mr. Wolf.
Me: you mean Terry Fox.
E: Yah, dat’s it. Terry Fox.

LOL. I think it’s totally a “you had to be there” thing, but I crack up everytime I think of her saying that. She was close, Mr. Wolf, Terry Fox. hehehe. What a cute kid.

I went to parent teacher last night for my son and oldest daughter. I never had any concerns about my oldest, she loves school and catches on quickly enough. My son, I am worried. I saw his teacher and she basically told me that he isn’t a disruptive child, if anything he’s quite well behaved, it’s just when it comes to doing the actual school work, he’ll do anything but! She says he’ll sit there and it’s like he’s in his own world. He 3 pages behind the rest of the kids in his class too. It’s as if he never learned anything in primary. I mean, he doesn’t have the basics yet. Ugh, I’m so upset. Does anyone have any advice as to how to help him? I know there are some fellow teacher bloggers out there, have you ever taught children like that and still had some hope to grade! Ack, I’m thinking he’ll fail. I know it’s the first of the school year and all that, and he’s got to get adjusted. But you know what, last year it was the same torture to do the schoolwork. Anyway, just had to vent that about him.

Oh on the whole SIL thing, still not talking to her. She actually drove my children’s schoolbags and jackets up the driveway and then threw them out halfway up! (we live supppppppper close to one another on the same driveway) i was like what the hell? Who does that? Blah, wishing she’d drop off the planet more and more these days.

Well my friend who’s expecting twins went in to be induced on Monday and it didn’t work. She’s still hanging on to them. She’ll go in on Monday again, for the 3rd time to get induced. I sure hope it works this time, because she’ll need a section and she totally doesn’t want that.

Must go get kiddies off to the bus, take care all 🙂

More Questions Answered

Well, still have my lovely head cold. But I suppose it could be worse, I could have a hacking cough with it. Gladly I don’t. Anyway, this weekend I spent my time watching Grey’s Anatomy, seasons 1 & 2. I’m really hooked now. I can’t wait until it starts up Thursday night. Yay! I think I’m going to rent House, and get into that show too.

Went to playgroup this morning, the baby had a blast. haha. It’s more for me than her right now. We’re meet again on Thursday, so that shall be fun.

Ok, here’s the rest of the questions that I am finally getting answered.

Girl From Florida asked:

What’s your favorite meal/food?

I would have to say without a doubt Manicotti. I absolutely love pasta and italian food. But out of all the pasta dishes I’ve tried, that’s my favorite. I also love a great dessert. I’m such a sucker for sweets. That’s the hardest thing now with this dieting crap is cutting out the sweets that I crave pretty much all the time.

Isabel asked:

What are your thoughts on the Canadian dollar catching up to the US dollar?

It’s about time. haha. No really though, I think it’s about time that we are catching up. I haven’t really paid much attention to it, since I don’t do any travelling, but I was very surprised to see the exchange rate now.

Lizzy in the City asked:

What’s the grossest thing you’ve ever had to do at a job?

Oh my dear. I’m sure I could give you infinite examples of gross things that I’ve had to do during my lovely hrs as an RN. Lets see, I think it would have to be in training that we get bombarded with some REALLY gross experiences. Now, I have to tell you, it all revolves around bodily functions that grosses me out. I had this one elderly patient that was getting magnalax and cascara like twice daily. Of course my shift i come on and of course I get the wonderful after effects of it. Oh my, well I don’t think a cow could have shit that much in the commode. OMG< it was horrible. Cleaning that commode and that person, was by far the GROSSEST thing I had to do. I confess the only reason I torture myself is for my children. I think cleaning bedpans and commodes are pretty freakin gross.

What is your favorite thing in the whole wide world, aside from your kids and husband?

Food! haha. Well without a doubt my hubby and kids come first. Spending time with them is definately my favorite thing, but since you’ve excluded that, I will say chocolate and pasta. Ooooh and diet pepsi. 🙂

Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

Hmmm, let me think. My grade 12 chemistry teacher. He was so nice. I really liked him since he was so helpful and a sincerely nice man. I remember I just couldn’t grasp the whole concept at the first of the school year and he wouldn’t give up until I understood it. He was very patient too.

I was pregnant for my grade 12 school year, when I was close to my due date he’d be asking when the baby was due and I’d let him know. Of course I was 2 wks overdue with her and was still going to class and he’d ask when I was due and I’d be all like 2 wks ago, and he’d laugh and laugh and tell me not to have her in class.

Well that’s it folks, I’ve answered all the questions. Thanks for asking. 🙂
