Who would have thought?

We had to go shopping for light fixtures and the bulbs yesterday, since they weren’t included in the quote for the house. Here’s where I get to my title. It cost us $1,000 for all. THe fixtures were about 800 and the bulbs were 200. Really, no joking. We got those energy efficient ones, which were ridiculously priced. I wanted to go for the 58cent packs, but hubby wouldn’t do it. LOL.

The furnace is hooked up, as are the oil tanks. Now we have to get oil to have a test run. The whole upstairs is painted as well as the basboards too. Now the flooring will be ordered today. Ummm, what else, the basement is completely gyprocked, just waiting on them to crackfill it, then prime and paint. They have to put a railing in on the stairs on the side with the wall due to inspection codes or whatever, I thought it was going to look stupid but it’s not bad, the wood is stained cognac like my cupboards, it looks really nice. Can’t wait to see it all finished.

Last night we played american idol for the wii. It was HILARIOUS. Yep, we suck, but had fun sucking!

$800 for light fixtures for an entire house sounds like a great deal to me. Yes, light bulbs are very expensive. Luckily, you’ll never have to replace them all at once again.

You’ll be glad you upgraded your bulbs once those utility bills start rolling in. I agree with Chas, $800 sounds like a great deal!
